Tiddley Winks Nursery - Port st. Mary - Isle of Man

Welcome to Tiddleywinks Nursery. Tiddleywinks is an established private day nursery school providing care for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. We also provide after school care for children up to the age of 8 years who attend Port St. Mary Primary School (Schoill Purt Le Moirrey).

The principle aim at Tiddleywinks Nursery is to provide safe, caring and stimulating environment where children can play, learn and develop positively. We will provide age appropriate activities that stimulate our children encouraging them to learn and develop the key social skills they will need upon entering primary education. Above all Tiddleywinks is a friendly, happy and safe place to leave your child. The nursery operates on an equal opportunities policy. All children and adults are treated as individuals.

Tiddleywinks Nursery is situated on Bay View Road in heart of Port St. Mary. Port St. Mary is on the south east coast of the isle of man adjacent to Port Erin and only a short drive from Colby, Ballabeg and Castletown.

The nursery is open from 8am until 6pm 5 days a week all year round excluding the Easter and Christmas bank holidays.

Anyone wishing their child to attend Tiddleywinks must complete a registration form. We also request two weeks deposit and one month’s fees in advance and fees are then payable in monthly arrears.

A minimum of one months notice must be given to withdraw your child from Tiddleywinks Nursery or reduce your child’s number of sessions. If you should decide to withdraw your child without notice you will still be required to pay, in full, four weeks fees in lieu of notice. As in most standard nursery care policies full fees are payable during sickness and absences. The nursery reserves the right to exclude children if fees remain unpaid for fourteen days.

Tiddleywinks has a range of policies. All parents/guardians have the right to read these policies upon request.

Parents/Guardians of a child should be aware that the staff at Tiddleywinks Nursery School will take reasonable action to ensure the safety of the children at all times.

All children who remain in the nursery during the lunch hour (12pm-1pm) should have a packed lunch which must contain an ice pack. We also serve food at tea time; this should also be provided if your child is staying for the later sessions. We request that all lunch boxes are clearly marked with your child’s name.

Juice, water and a snack will be given to the children at 10.30am and 3.30pm every day.

If your child is suffering from any infection or illness you must inform us immediately and we will advise you as to whether or not you child can attend the nursery. The exclusion period for diarrhoea and sickness is at least 48hrs from the last bout of illness.

The staff at tiddleywinks are more than happy to administer prescribed medication. Any medication must be handed to the nursery manager, and you are required to fill out a medication form each day throughout the course of treatment.

In the rare event of an accident occurring whilst your child is in our care it will be recorded in the nursery accident book. This will be signed by a member of staff and a parent/guardian is required to counter sign the book upon collection of the child.

All children MUST be escorted by an adult and met by a member of staff. Upon collection children are only released to parents/guardians listed on the registration form. # If any other person should come to collect your child the parents/guardians listed must give nursery manager reasonable notice. Children will under no circumstances be released to any person that has not been made known to them by the listed parents/guardians.
